1. Vehicle Hire

Vehicles are hired subject to availability. The hire period is defined in your rental agreement or invoice.

2. Rental & Payments

• Rental charges must be paid as agreed.
• A refundable security deposit is required and may be held up to 14 days.
• Daily mileage allowance: 100 km. Extra km will be charged.
• Fuel must be refilled to the same level at return.

3. Insurance & Accidents

• All vehicles are comprehensively insured (conditions apply).
• Notify HBS Rent a Car and police immediately after an accident.
• Insurance excess (Rs. 5,000/-) must be borne by the hirer.
• Insurance void if driver is under influence, unlicensed, or negligent.

4. Vehicle Use

• Only authorized drivers with valid licenses may drive.
• Prohibited uses: racing, towing, transporting goods, animals, or illegal activity.
• Smoking inside the vehicle is not allowed.
• Extra drivers must be declared in advance (charges apply).

5. Maintenance & Repairs

• Routine checks (oil, water, tyres) are the hirer’s responsibility.
• Minor repairs under Rs. 2,500/- may be done by hirer; major repairs require approval.
• Official servicing will be done by HBS Rent a Car.

6. Liability & Responsibility

• Hirer is responsible for fines, penalties, and negligence damages.
• Damage to tyres, keys, accessories, or interiors will be charged.
• Early termination refunds are not provided. Cleaning charges may apply.

7. Breakdown & Replacement

In case of breakdown, immediately inform HBS Rent a Car. Replacement vehicles provided based on availability.

8. Termination

HBS Rent a Car reserves the right to terminate agreement if terms are breached. Cleaning charges (Rs. 1,000/- to Rs. 6,000/-) may apply.

9. Governing Law

All rentals are subject to Sri Lankan law. Disputes handled under the jurisdiction chosen by HBS Rent a Car.
